Nike Is Turning the Air Max 90 Into the Perfect Sneaker for Halloween

Nike Made a Big Change to This Kobe Bryant Sneaker for NBA All-Star 2025

While Nike likes to go all in on themes for its annual assortment of Halloween sneakers , a forthcoming Air Max 90 demonstrates the value of a simple change in colors for the occasion.

The Nike Air Max 90 “Halloween” will release this fall with an orange, grey and white color scheme. The Halloween hue is applied to the mudguard window, lower eyestay panel, mustache, tongue logo, sockliner, midsole wedge and portions of the outsole. The rest of the outsole is arranged in four shades of grey on leather, suede and mesh, while the sole unit adds sections in white and dark grey.

With nearly two months still to go before the holiday, Nike’s Halloween plans are already starting to come into focus. Ja Morant and Devin Booker’s sneakers will both take on Halloween detailing, while a highly detailed Dunk Low features a vamp sculpted into the shape of a skull. A kid’s-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Low will also get a glow-in-the-dark cat eye treatment likely to make many adults jealous.

Last year, Nike’s Halloween slate included a candy corn-inspired SB Dunk High and a snakeskin-textured Dunk Mid with a marbled glow-in-the-dark outsole.

The Air Max 90 was originally called the Air Max 3 and wasn’t rechristened to denote the year it released until its first retro in 2000. Tinker Hatfield designed the sneaker, and its most popular color scheme is “Infared,” the blocking of which is similar for this year’s Halloween iteration.

A release date hasn’t yet been confirmed for the Nike Air Max 1 “Halloween,” but you can expect it to drop before the holiday. Pricing is set at $130.
