Live from Studio A: The Ameri-Finn All Stars
After meeting at a music festival, Minnesota native Steve Solkela and Finland native Ida Metsberg teamed up for occasional performances as the Ameri-Finn All Stars, including sets at FinnFest 2024 in Duluth. They joined us in the studio on July 25, 2024 to share a song from each musician's repertoire, plus a well-known American song with Finnish lyrics. We talked with Solkela about how he experienced his Finnish heritage growing up on the Iron Range and with Metsberg about growing up in a musical family and moving to New York at 21 to pursue her own music.
