Spokane Offices Raid, Shut Down ‘Crime-Drug’ House in Valley
The Spokane County Sheriff's Department reports a search of a home in the Spokane Valley has resulted in one arrest and there are likely more. For a number of months law enforcement had been investigating the home in the 7300 block of East 4th. Ave and neighbors had reported a lot of suspicious activity including (according to SCSO):

Schwana is a small area along the Columbia River in Grant County, a few miles north of Mattawa, and south of Vantage, with a population (US Census) of about 250. The Grant County Sheriff's Office reports a homeowner in the 18000 block of Frist Ave. Southwest was awakened by gunfire around 1:30 AM Thursday morning, and then called 911.
SPD investigating fatal vehicle collision involving a motorcycle
Officer Daniel Strassenberg Public Information Office. On August 29th, 2024 just before 2:30pm, 911 was advised of a vehicle collision at Sprague and Freya involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck. Officers arrived on scene quickly and closed down the intersection. The motorcyclist was given emergency medical aid at the scene, but succumbed to his injuries. The other involved driver has been contacted by law enforcement.

Idaho Fish and Game's Cody Allen receives Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award
The Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, or WAFWA, summer conference was recently held in Stevenson, Washington, where a local Idaho Fish and Game officer was awarded the Pogue-Elms Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award. According to a news release from Idaho Fish and Game, the officer's name is Cody Allen, and he has been a conservation officer for the past 12 years.
