OPINION: Banks bond will provide much-needed upgrades

If you received a ballot, please vote. Your vote will make a difference, especially in the small town of Banks. Now is the time.

Saying yes to Measure 34-336 will provide an opportunity for much needed upgrades. These upgrades will not only provide a safe learning environment for the student body and staff, but the growing community of Banks.

As a parent of children in the school district for the past 10 years and community member, the physical conditions of the school are concerning. Examples include boiler system problems causing cold indoor temperatures, general structural concerns in areas of the high school, leading to unused learning space and many more problems that go along with older buildings.

Upon voter approval of the bond in May, the district would receive an additional grant of $6 million for the school upgrades.
