Washington County Parks has announced that Scoggins Valley Park, including Henry Hagg Lake, will remain closed through the weekend, Aug. 9-11.

That's due to the Lee Falls Fire — a 280-acre fire in southwest Washington County that has forced more than 600 people to evacuate. Aircraft have been dipping into Hagg Lake to pick up water to drop on the blaze.

As of 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, the fire is 75% lined. Multiple planes remain on standby and will be deployed as needed to support firefighters on the ground, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.

Scoggins Valley Park is a 2,500 park featuring two boat launches, nearly 15 miles of trails, an 18-hole disc golf course and picnic areas. The site is often used for fishing, boating and swimming.
