To celebrate a decade of markets, this year’s Beaverton Night Market will be condensed into one evening in order to concentrate city resources into the biggest, best market yet.

From 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in the City Hall Plaza, Beaverton will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the annual Beaverton Night Market.

Born out of the city’s Diversity Advisory Board in a call back to international night markets, the Beaverton Night Market aims to foster crosscultural exchange and promote economic opportunity for culturally specific businesses in the city.

With an expanded footprint that sprawls across the City Hall Plaza, The Round Amphitheater and Crescent Street, the free event will bring more than 60 vendors, a variety of performances, hands-on activities and more to the heart of the city.

Ten live performances are scheduled on dual stages, featuring hula, Mexican folk dance, African drumming and more.

Inside the main lobby of the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, guests are invited to help artist Kanani Miyamoto in her ongoing art installation titled "Across Oceans", participate in a drum circle and create a community mural.

More information about the event schedule can be found online.
