    The Forest Lake boys tennis team endured a recent tough stretch, suffering four straight losses to metro and SEC opponents in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Woodbury and East Ridge from Saturday, April 27, to Wednesday, May 1. On Friday, May 3, the boys rebounded with two timely wins over Chisago Lakes (6-1) and St. Francis (7-0), as the Rangers began to find their groove again.

    On Saturday, May 4, the Rangers took part in a quad meet at Elk River High School, where the boys faced off with the Elks and lost 0-7. After the week’s action, the team is currently 7-9 on the year.

    Girls lacrosse

    Following its first win of the season over Tartan/North St. Paul, the Forest Lake girls lacrosse team went on the road and lost at the hands of the Mounds View Mustangs on Wednesday, May 1, falling 13-7. In the loss, junior captain Rylen Kissell netted four goals, while Lydia Balfany and junior Maren Wallinga added a goal each. Sophomore Abbie Sklavenitis continued her solid season by scoring a pair in the loss.

    Two days later on Friday, May 3, the Rangers lost to Woodbury at home 20-10 in a high scoring affair. Sklavenitis tallied four goals, with Anna Brunfelt adding two, and Kissell adding a hat trick. The girls are now 1-7 on the year following back-to-back losses.

    Boys lacrosse

    The Forest Lake boys lacrosse team maintains its push for its first win of the season after falling to Mounds View (12-5) on Wednesday, May 1, and dropping a contest to Woodbury (9-2) on the road on Friday, May 3.

    In the matchup with Mounds View, Ezra Lukas scored a pair of goals, while Jake Colvin and Levi Hageman each netted a goal of their own, setting up Ethan Coleman for a score. On Monday, May 6, the boys dropped their eighth game of the year by falling to a co-op unit in Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids by a final of 14-10 in a high-scoring affair. The squad is now 0-8 on the year, as the Rangers look to find its identity.

    Baseball

    The Forest Lake baseball team opened up its week with a 0-6 loss to Mounds View on Tuesday, April 30, as the Rangers struggled to find any offensive scoring output. The very next day, the boys hosted Cretin-Derham Hall and fell by a final score of 11-0. The squad found the win column after defeating Woodbury on the road in a close 5-4 final on Friday, May 3. The following day, the Rangers dropped its last contest of the week vs. Park of Cottage Grove, with the unit falling 0-2. On Monday, May 6, the boys began their week with a 2-0 win over Irondale at home to post a current season record of 5-7-1 on the year.
