FLPD searches for tire tosser
The Forest Lake Police Department is searching for the person who is responsible for tossing out roughly 150 tires in the southwest part of the city. The police department kept area drivers from hitting the tires on Monday, Dec. 6 until the city’s public works department could pick up the 146 tires along the 18000 block of Forest Road North, 180th Street, and Fenway Avenue North. Capt. Greg Weiss said that the department believes the tire tosser is a part of a tire shop. Chief Rick Peterson said at the council meeting on Monday, Dec. 12, “That took up a lot of police resources and public works resources to clean that up. ...I would really like to talk to the individual that did that, and I will personally have them charged.” So far the police department has received several tips and are tracking those down, but anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call 911 or 651-439-938.
