Tennis smashes C-I, sees growing success on the court
The Forest Lake boys tennis team has reeled off four straight victories, including 4-3 triumph over Roseville on Thursday, May 12 to finish 6-3 in the Suburban East Conference. The Rangers won their first five conference matches before dropping three in succession against the league’s top three teams Stillwater, Mounds View and East Ridge. With the win over Roseville, the Rangers improved to 5-1 in matches decided by just one point this season. Forest Lake has posted 4-3 victories over White Bear Lake, Monticello, Roseville, Cambridge-Isanti and Chisago Lakes, with the only 4-3 loss coming against Stillwater. After closing out the regular season against Duluth Denfeld and Grand Rapids in a triangular meet on May 17 in Duluth, the Rangers start play in the Section 7AA team tournament on May 19.

Juvenile arrested in tagging incident
A juvenile suspect has been arrested in a property damage incident. On Tuesday, May 3, Forest Lake police officers responded to a complaint of property damage by residents of the Summerfield Development near Fenway Ave North and 206th Street North. Officers found nearly 20 acts of vandalism around the neighborhood, including spray painting garage doors, vehicles, and playground equipment, with an estimated cost of the damage between $30,000 to $50,000. Later that day, the police department arrested a juvenile male, who is currently being held and will likely be charged with crimes related to the property damage, according to a press release by the police department. A similar tagging occurred last month at Beltz Park in Forest Lake. The Forest Lake Police Department is investigating that incident, but so far does not believe the crimes are related.
