PHOENIX -- Some newly discovered emails could undermine the bid by state lawmakers to allocate $15.3 million for the Prescott Rodeo. Documents filed in court by those challenging the funding appear to show that the state Treasurer's Office actually agreed to provide another $10 million to the International Dark Sky Discovery Center in Fountain Hills even before it had requested proposals from others who might have qualified for the cash. Only later, after the money already was promised, did state officials follow what the law requires.

City of Safford cruizin Main
Cruizin Main is a Wonderfull experience! You get to ride in a fancy car all around Safford. This year it will be held on September 14 from 8PM-10PM. If you have a car you would like to drive in the cruize please arrive from 6PM-8PM on Main Street in Safford to show it off and register to Cruize and to join the salsa fest car show later in the month. Community members from last years cruise loved being able to explore the town at night. Some claimed it feels like your own personal parade.
13th annual Hopi Arts & Culture Festival draws hundreds
Seymour Lomakema Dance Group perform the Eagle dance at the 13th annual Hopi Arts & Cultural Festival at the Flagstaff Mall Aug. 24. A wide array of Hopi artisans, dancers and musicians showcased their talents at the event, which drew hundreds. This year, the festival was one-day only and free to all.
