Chances Of Shark Attacks Higher In South Carolina
The University of West Florida did comprehensive research and discovered that beach goers are much more likely to be bitten in South Carolina waters than anywhere else in the continental United States. Erich Ritter is with the University and says while Florida gets most of the publicity for shark attacks, “South Carolina is where the true danger lies”. Now more shark attacks do occur in Florida but the survey takes into account the number of people and amount of days spent in the water. The study uses the number of people that enter the ocean on average.
Millions announced for South Carolina airport projects
(The Center Square) — The federal government is sending more than $6.1 million in taxpayer money to four South Carolina airports as part of grants for rehabilitation and construction projects. The latest in federal tax money is from the 2024 Airport Improvement Program's third round of grants. CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) — The South Carolina branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recognized on Tuesday the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. According to officials, the FBI investigates over 1,000 cases of human trafficking each year. Human trafficking is defined as the illegal exploitation of a person for labor or services.

He also became the became only the second pitcher in the expansion era, dating back to 1961, to strike out seven of his first nine batters in his first career start, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
