UAFS student cycles across America to raise $600K for those with disabilities
FORT SMITH, Ark. — A University of Arkansas - Fort Smith (UAFS) student is traveling from coast to coast for a good cause. Junior Braxten Martin is biking across the country and just recently made his way through Missouri. The trip will be taking soon-to-be senior Martin from Seattle to Washington, D.C.
FAFSA Clinics Next Week Supporting UC Families
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission is offering free FAFSA clinics to give Upper Cumberland families hands-on support while applying for federal student aid. Senior Outreach Director Jason Seay said they have always had FAFSA workshops at high schools and colleges throughout the state but families need more support this year. Seay said last year’s revamping of the system has led to technical issues and some parental concerns.

Dr. Jessie Little joins NARMC pediatrics clinic
North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) recently welcomed Dr. Jessie Little, a pediatrician, to the medical team.Dr. Little earned her bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and furthered her medical training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She attended a residency at both the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. An impactful milestone in Dr. Little’s career includes the development of a widely distributed breastfeeding education video at UAMS aimed at supporting both parents and healthcare providers.
