76-year-old man drowns in Lake Lanier, officials say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 76-year-old man from Gainesville drowned in Lake Lanier on Wednesday, according to the Department of Natural Resources. Georgia game wardens, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and the Forsyth Fire Department were called to the lake near Keith Bridge Park at around 9:30 p.m. Jim Hansard’s body was found in 13 feet of water using boat-mounted sonar, the department said.
