3 inmates die in Cascade County Detention Center in 2 weeks
Three inmates have died in custody at the Cascade County Detention Center since June 29. Leon Laverdure, 51, died on June 29. Julius Lowe, 28, died on July 5. Andrew Swager, 58, died on July 10. Lewis and Clark Sheriff’s Office, which provided the coroner in the cases, confirmed the names of the deceased.

Montana Athletics expands NIL opportunities for student athletes through licensing agreement
MISSOULA, Mont. – University of Montana Athletics and The Brandr Group (TBG) have established a group licensing agreement for the university's student-athletes covering all 15 Grizzly varsity sports. This partnership will enable these student-athletes to profit off their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) through a number of opportunities that will be co-branded with Montana's official trademarks and logos.
Stevensville to fix Father Ravalli Park fence
After more than three years, the Town of Stevensville is finally looking to do something about the fence in front of Father Ravalli Park. A popular location for soccer and t-ball games, around three years ago the park also added a playground. During that project, a stretch of the fence was folded back, out of the way. This was done to allow vehicles and construction equipment to more easily enter the park to build the playground. After the project was finished, the fence was never returned to normal. This has led to some concern from the Stevensville community about the overall look of the park since the project.

Dates: Setup on Wednesday, July 17, with the exercise occurring on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Location: The area between the Bulldog Athletic and Recreation Center (BARC) and the new stadium. The campus Heating Plant will also be utilized during this exercise. Foot traffic is to be expected by military personnel between the Heating Plant and the BARC area throughout the exercise.
