EAST TROY -- Fort Atkinson's Senior Legion Post 166 19U baseball team cut down the tying run at the plate in the eighth inning en route to holding off host East Troy 5-4 on Monday.

Braden Hausen's RBI single in the eighth gave the Hawks a 4-3 edge. With two outs, Drew Enger scored on a wild pitch.

East Troy took advantage of three walks to start a rally of its own in the eighth. Alex Bruce grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Seth Lingford and also resulting in the second out of the inning.

Connor Moat followed with a line shot single to left, where Jaren Strasburg fielded the ball and hit his cutoff man in shortstop Braden Hausen, who fired to catcher Cam Haagensen, resulting in Bruce being tagged out to end the game.

Hausen and Jordan Zahn each had two hits for the Hawks. Zahn notched a triple while Hausen, Alex Block and Hunter Green each doubled while Haagensen drove in two runs.

Zahn started on the bump for Fort, pitching three innings of two-hit ball. Mason Ketterhagen allowed two runs (one earned) in the fourth before Haagensen gave up a run on three hits in two frames. Block pitched the seventh and eighth innings, allowing a run on two hits to earn the decision.

East Troy utilized eight pitchers -- each threw one inning -- and Ethan Callahan took the loss.
