Dequaveion Moore punches officer in face after stealing from Walmart
20-year-old Dequaveion Orease Moore stole merchandise from the Walmart on Fort Campbell Boulevard at 12:36 p.m. on June 14th. Upon arrival, officers observed him walking toward the exit without paying for the items he had. They attempted to stop him, during which Moore struck one of them in the face and fled. Moore was later taken into custody for shoplifting, assault on a first responder, and evading arrest.
Crystal Eads booked after attempting to sell stolen iPhone at an EcoATM
41-year-old Crystal Eads was seen trying to unlock a stolen phone at Best Buy on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on June 15th. An Employee of Best Buy had called to report that an iPhone was turned in at the service desk by Eads so that they could unlock the phone. The employee informed the officers that Eads would return to pick up the phone in two hours. While employees were unlocking the phone, it was flagged as stolen. The phone was reported stolen the previous day, and officers obtained surveillance footage of Eads attempting to pawn the phone at the EcoATM at the Kroger on Dover crossing.
Store Security Check Leads to Foot Chase With Police
A Hopkinsville Police officer who stopped to make a routine check at a convenience store ended up in a foot pursuit that ended with the arrest of a Herndon man. Sgt. Mike Felts said he got out at the Dodge Store on West 7th Street just before midnight Monday to check on the clerks inside and noticed 39-year-old Richard Anderson walking away from the front of the store quickly and then running behind the Dollar General Store next door.
Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Manslaughter In Todd County
A Hopkinsville woman was charged with manslaughter on Tuesday after an investigation into an Elkton man’s death last month. Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they investigated the death of a 21-year-old man who was found to have died on June 18th from a fentanyl overdose, which was confirmed following an autopsy.
Quinten Rhodes jailed after being caught driving on suspended license
31-year-old Quinten Rhodes was involved in a car crash at Windriver and Hazelwood Road at 1:36 p.m. on June 16th. When officers arrived at the scene of the crash, they observed a vehicle with dark windows showing 15 percent tint. The car involved in the crash had a sticker on the registration that did not belong to the vehicle, and the registration also expired last year. An investigation of Rhodes showed that he had a suspended driver’s license for failure to pay fines. Since Rhodes had a history of failing to appear in court, he was taken into custody for illegal window tint, driving on a suspended license, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Shirnekqua Bynum “bopped” her child in the head after giving them medication
25-year-old Shirnekqua Leannzarae Bynum had a domestic incident with her minor daughter, BB, at Tennova Hospital around 8:16 p.m. on June 18th. When officers arrived, they spoke with the nurse, Victoria Roberts, who stated that she gave Bynum medication for BB to ingest, during which Bynum told BB, “If you do not swallow this, you are going to regret it,” before “bopping” her in the back with her hand. Then, Bynum laid BB down on her lap to give her the meds, during which BB sat up and spit it out on her, to which Bynum responded by slapping her in the face and pushing her onto the floor. A nurse technician, Pamela McCurdy, witnessed this and corroborated Roberts’ statements. Bynum was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Donovan McKinnie cited after driving 90 mph in a 70 mph zone
31-year-old Donovan Keith McKinnie was observed speeding and swerving in his blue Chevy Malibu on I-24 late October 24th, 2023. He was clocked going 75 and 90 mph before decelerating in a 70-mph zone. Also, 911 was called regarding McKinnie watching videos from his phone inside his car while driving. After officers conducted a traffic stop, he was cited for the occurrence. Then, he failed to appear in court on January 9th, 2024. McKinnie was later booked on the citation of reckless driving, speeding, and using a cell phone while driving on June 14th, 2024.
Shamar Ricketts tells University Landing employee “You don’t want these problems”
28-year-old Shamar Owen Ricketts threatened Quentin Jones at the University Landing apartments at 12:56 p.m. on June 12th. Jones, an employee at the location, called 911, stating that he spoke to a black male wearing an olive green shirt and jeans, later identified as Ricketts. Jones noted that he told Ricketts he was trespassing and could not be on the property. During their interaction, Jones said Ricketts had become aggressive and told him, “You don’t want these problems.” Ricketts pointed at him and pulled up his shirt, revealing a black handgun. Jones told officers that this caused him to fear for his safety and the people inside the building. While officers were at the location, they encountered Ricketts near Main Street and 5th Street. After officers conducted a show-up, Jones identified him as the person in question. Ricketts was taken into custody for aggravated assault.
Tamara Bryan slaps roommate in face during argument
53-year-old Tamara Lynn Bryan had a domestic incident with her roommate, Debra Watson, at their Ballygar Street apartment at 11:58 a.m. on June 18th. Watson told responding officers that she and Bryan had a verbal altercation, which escalated when she slapped Watson in the face. Bryan was later taken into custody for domestic assault.
Gregory Townsend headbutts wife when she tells him to get a job
53-year-old Gregory Keith Townson had a domestic incident with his wife, Victoria Medina, at their High Street residence at 7:11 a.m. on June 14th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Medina, who stated that she and Townson had a dispute regarding him not working. During their argument, Townson got in her face and headbutted her, hitting her nose, which popped and made her believe it had broken. Then, Medina separated herself from him and alerted the authorities. When officers spoke with Townson, he told them that if he headbutted her, it was an accident. Townson was later taken into custody for domestic assault.
DUI: Brittny Bailey jailed after several drinks at Electric Cowboy
35-year-old Brittny Bailey was seen driving under the influence at an intersection on 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Peachers Mill Road on June 15th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Bailey, who, upon initial contact, showed signs of intoxication. When officers asked if she drank any alcohol, Bailey admitted to drinking several drinks before leaving the troubled Electric Cowboy. When officers asked Bailey to perform sobriety, she accepted. However, she performed poorly on all tests. After being informed of implied consent, she agreed to provide a breath sample, resulting in 0.192 BAC%. Bailey was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Local man charged with felony theft
Hopkinsville police have charged a Hopkinsville man with felony theft following investigation into a theft that occurred on Lafayette Road in June. According to the police report, investigation began when the victim reported that seven fishing poles were stolen out of the back of his truck on June 30 and the Hucks gas station on Lafayette Road. Using video surveillance footage, officers were able to identify the suspect as 48-year-old Arby Kimble.
Kristy Howell jailed after authorities find two deceased dogs in her garage
44-year-old Kristy Howell was caught having two dead dogs in her garage at her Sherwood Hills Drive residence on June 12th. On that day, officers responded to an animal cruelty call at the residence, and upon arrival, they spoke with Emily Goodfield, an animal control officer. Goodfield informed the officers that two dogs were found deceased in the garage of the house, and she suspected that the dogs had died from starvation. Officers then contacted Joshua Howell, who stated that his ex-wife, Kristy, is the only person who lives in the house and has guardianship of the dogs. Officers were unable to contact Kristy, so a warrant was issued. Kristy was caught and taken into custody for two counts of aggravated animal cruelty on June 17th.
James Tummins flees from police after breaking into someone’s camper
26-year-old James Tummins was seen attempting to break into someone’s Dean Road residence on June 16th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim of the crime, who showed officers where Tummins came onto her porch and attempted to make entry by using the door handle to open and push it open. The victim told officers that Tummins then proceeded to take several items from her porch and walk out of her camera’s view. While officers were on the scene, they observed a camper in the front yard with a side window knocked out, and the items Tummins had taken were left in the front yard. Officers also noticed Tummins walking from behind the victim’s home and running away on foot when officers gave him commands. Tummins was then tackled by officers and placed on the ground under arrest. Moments later, Tummins admitted to knocking out the windows of the camper and was taken into custody for aggravated burglary, evading arrest, and vandalism.
