They have been privy to many of the perks and downfalls of the military family lifestyle. They’ve been through a lot and have a lot of wisdom to share. Minot AFB is blessed to have not ONE, but TWO Wing Command Spouses. Although just meeting a few months ago, the two ladies have become fast friends and have plans for how to bring the base and their wings together.
Applications set to open for Salvation Army coat drive
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — While we still enjoying some summer weather, The Salvation Army is working to make sure that kids in our region stay warm once winter rolls around. The annual Salvation Army Coat Drive will begin taking applications for assistance starting September 3rd, with the deadline to apply on September 27th.
Vacation Bible School is Back!
Summer is over, and swimming outside will need to wait until next year, but there is something else that students can dive into…VBS! The kindergarteners and the 1st – 5th graders of the Minot Protestant Community on Minot AFB will have a chance to dive into a friendship with God at the SCUBA Vacation Bible School (VBS) on Saturday, September 7th. This free VBS is open to all the children of base families, no matter what their religious affiliation or church attendance.

Red River Valley Fair to return to 10-day format, make changes
(WEST FARGO) — The Red River Valley Fair is making changes beginning next year. “You asked and we listened,” the fair posted on Facebook Friday morning. “The Red River Valley Fair is going back to a 10-day format from July 4th to July 13th, 2025, with lower admission prices and more affordable entertainment options!”

An increase of more than 23 percent in new freshmen — part of a 6 percent jump in overall student enrollment — keeps the momentum going at UND. They hail from 46 states and Washington, D.C., as well as from multiple military bases and six Canadian provinces. They include 11 National Merit scholars, or three more than enrolled as freshmen in the fall of 2023, and just over 23 percent more Presidential Scholars than were in the previous freshman class, which itself had 16.63% more Presidential Scholars than its predecessor.
