Two weeks after waiving adoption fees and asking the community to help it free up shelter space, NOCO Humane says more than 300 animals have been adopted and it soon will be resuming adoption fees.

When it announced the promotion at the end of June, the nonprofit said it was caring for more than 450 animals, according to previous Coloradoan reporting.

The organization rebranded from Larimer Humane Society to NOCO Humane last year after merging with the Humane Society of Weld County. It now provides shelter services for Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud, Timnath, Wellington, Greeley, Evans, Johnstown, Windsor and Larimer County. It operates two shelters: one in Loveland, 3501 E. 71st St., and one in Evans, 1620 42nd St.

In addition to the more than 300 animal adoptions in the past two weeks, NOCO Humane announced Friday that it had reunited nearly 200 lost animals with their families in that time.

Here's when adoption fees will resume at NOCO Humane

The nonprofit's promotion waiving adoption fees will continue through Monday, then regular adoption fees will resume.

The promotion was originally expected to remain in place through the end of the month, though the organization had said it might end earlier if enough adoptions took place.
