Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream Opening in Fort Collins

A new franchisee is bringing Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream to Fort Collins. The shop will be located at 1501 W. Elizabeth St. near the Colorado State University campus, recent reports from Biz West state .

This marks the 27th store for the Provo, Utah-based chain. It was founded by Jerry and Naomi Hancock in 2004 and has grown steadily since its inception. The Hancocks’ patented process was showcased on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in 2013, leading to a burst in popularity.

Sub Zero, known for its unique method of freezing ice cream with liquid nitrogen, promises a culinary experience that blends art and science. Patrons choose from various bases, flavors, and mix-ins, watching as their custom creations are frozen in seconds.

Kenny Haap, a hospitality veteran with 30 years of industry experience, is the franchisee of this new store. He has a background in restaurant and golf course management and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona’s Collins School of Hospitality.

He tells What Now Denver they are in the general contracting phase, with permits expected to be submitted soon. He anticipates an October/November opening, but he is already catering events and getting the company’s name out there in the community.
