Troy Rookie All-Stars compete in World Series
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... The Troy All-Stars represented Alabama at the Dixie Ozone Rookies (11U) World Series in Mississippi this past weekend. Troy went 2-2 at the World Series. They opened up the World Series with a 8-5 win over Livingston on July 18. Cole Cleveland led Troy at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, while Elliot Cochran went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Barrett Powell and Cochran pitched two innings each. Cochran struck out two and gave up two hits and two earned runs, while Powell struck out three and gave up no hits or earned runs.

Meet Goldie, the PAHS Pet of the Week
Goldie is a 4-year-old female Chihuahua mix who must be spayed before adoption. She was found as a stray out in the county and no owner came looking for her. Goldie is white with black markings; and she only weighs 9 pounds. She is a friendly little gal who gets along well with other dogs. Like any Chihuahua, Goldie would probably do best in a home with no small children. This little darling is so ready to have a home and family who will love her. Come meet Goldie soon.
Freeze on Auburn offense: 'We have to run the football'
Coming off a season in 2023 when the Tigers finished 24th nationally in rushing offense but averaged just 26.2 points per game (72nd in the country), coach Hugh Freeze has talked about the need to create more explosive plays in the passing game and get more production from quarterback Payton Thorne, but in the end everything this season will revolve around Auburn's ability to run the football.
SEHS Punter Colby Beyer Wins Competition at Florida State University Summer Camp
Stanhope Elmore High School senior punter Colby Beyer recently won a punt competition during a summer camp at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. The competition featured more than 40 punters from around the country. After winning the competition, Beyer’s father, an alumnus from Florida State, tracked down Seminole’s Head Coach Mike Norvell, for a picture with the younger Beyer.
