2 arrested after Aroostook road rage incident injures pedestrian

Two Presque Isle men were arrested Saturday night after what police described as a road rage incident resulted in life-threatening injuries to a pedestrian.

Fort Fairfield police received several complaints beginning at around 7:30 p.m. about a vehicle traveling from neighboring Presque Isle toward town at a high rate of speed and operating erratically, according to a statement from Chief Matthew Cummings on social media. The suspect vehicle continued into Fort Fairfield and was reported to be chasing other vehicles down side streets.

Some of the vehicles, including the suspect vehicle, stopped at a convenience store where a verbal altercation took place, according to Cummings.

As police responded to the incident, the suspect vehicle fled on Presque Isle Street and struck pedestrian Sean Wright, 48, of Fort Fairfield, according to Cummings. Wright was taken to A.R. Gould hospital in Presque Isle and later transferred to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses reported a description of the suspect vehicle and the plate number. Police located the vehicle on the Presque Isle Road near the city line but it did not stop and continued into Presque Isle. Fort Fairfield Police Officer Cody Fenderson located the suspects and they were arrested and later transported to Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Noah Sirois, 18, faces multiple charges including operating under the influence, elevated aggravated assault, terrorizing, criminal speed, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He is being held on $50,000 bail.

Landon MacDougal, 19, is facing several charges including elevated aggravated assault, terrorizing, reckless conduct with a motor vehicle, eluding a police officer and violations of conditions of release. MacDougal is being held without bail pending an appearance in court on Monday.
