AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - The City of Augusta has partnered with Georgia Power to install a second electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Downtown Augusta. Located at the Augusta Utilities Department facility at 452 Walker Street, these new EV chargers are part of the Green Augusta Initiative, highlighting the city’s dedication to adopting eco-friendly technologies for the benefit of residents and visitors.

Heather Nimmons had just dropped her youngest daughter off at a friend’s house a couple of miles from home when she received a call telling her to turn around and come back. Her daughter was in an accident that led her to be airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta. Nimmons hasn’t returned home since the accident occurred about 3 p.m. June 26.
