NEW DATE SET FOR CHRISTINE MAYS BRIDGE RESURFACING PROJECT
PennDOT has announced the new timeline for a bridge resurfacing project in Grant Township. The project on Christine L. Mays Bridge will now take place this Friday, July 19th, through Sunday, July 21st. The work is weather dependent and will require the closure of the bridge for the time being.

Border Patrol Stops Cross-Border Smuggling Event on St. Clair River
DETROIT - On June 25, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Marysville Border Patrol Station arrested four individuals after observing a vessel which originated in Canadian waters on the St. Clair River make landfall on to U.S. shoreline. The vessel dropped off three passengers who then got into a waiting vehicle. Collaborative efforts between U.S. and Canadian law enforcement partners resulted in the arrest of the driver of the vessel after he returned to Canada.

BWAT offering free rides for Blue Water fest
It’s just become a little easier to get to and from family night and boat night thanks to Blue Water Area Transit. The local transportation agency is providing free rides to and from the festival footprint both Thursday and Friday from 4pm to midnight. There will be a shuttle service that will be running from Desmond Landing to the Blue Water Transit Center. Festival goers are encouraged to park for free at Desmond Landing and then take the bus to the transit center. Port Huron prepares for a parade
Wednesday’s Rotary International Day Parade is the official kick off to this year’s Blue Water Fest. The parade will begin at Huron and Glenwood Avenue, continue south through the downtown business district, and turn east on Court Street to the disbanding area. Staging and check in will be on Pine Grove Avenue between Erie Street and Glenwood. In honor of the 100th running of the Bayview Yacht Club Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race, this year’s parade theme is titled “All Hands On Deck – A Century of Sailing”.
SC4 among other community colleges to offer free tuition
PORT HURON — St. Clair County Community College will now offer free tuition thanks to the state's new school aid budget. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer recently highlighted the new school aid budget, which allows every high school graduate to earn their associates degree or skills certificate from an in-district community college tuition-free. This budget will save more than 18,000 students up to $4,800 a year.
