Hochul to Appear in Dunkirk for Announcement Regarding Wells Enterprises
Governor Kathy Hochul will be making a stop in Dunkirk on Tuesday for an "economic development announcement." While her office has not revealed any further information regarding the announcement, Chautauqua County Executive P.J. Wendel, who was a guest on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program on Monday, confirmed that her event will be in regard to Wells Enterprises. Hochul's announcement is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM at the Armory. 4 Hospitalized, Horse Killed in Horse and Buggy Accident in Deerfield
A serious accident involving a Ford Focus and a horse and buggy have left four people hospitalized and a horse dead. Oneida County Sheriff's deputies were first called to the scene of a serious accident just after 7:30 p.m. Monday. The accident occurred on State Route 12 North between the Glass Factory Road entrance ramp and State Route 8 exit, according to Sheriff Rob Maciol.

(July 22, 2024) – Boater Ethan Carr of Massena, New York, caught a five-bass limit weighing 24 pounds, 10 ounces, Saturday to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine on the St. Lawrence River. Hosted by the Town of Massena, the tournament was the second event of the season for the BFL Northeast Division. Carr earned $3,335 for his victory.
