Dozens of Tesla Cybertrucks vandalized with brutal message for Elon Musk

Dozens of Elon Musk 's latest Cybertrucks were vandalized as they sat in a parking lot in Fort Lauderdale, Florida , tagged with expletives expressing hatred against Musk.

The police confirmed to local station WPLG that at least 34 of the cars, owned by Tesla who leases the parking lot, were damaged, the vandals spray-painting "F--- Elon" on the backs of the trucks.

Each of the odd-looking trucks cost over $80,000, and while they weren't exactly totaled, if they had been, it could have cost Tesla around $2.72 million. It appeared, however, that the worst of the vandalism was the spray paint, which was easily cleaned off, though the job was a tedious one.

Adam Docktor, who reportedly works nearby, told WPLG, "It was just one row, and then it was a second row, and then a third row and a fourth row. Hoss Alavi, who also works nearby, told the publication, "I thought Elon Musk put them on sale. I was trying to buy one."

There are reportedly no security cameras, gates or anything protecting the lot, TikToker AJ Cook revealed to WPLG, adding that the lot is located "in the back of projects."

The spray-painting allegedly happened sometime overnight on Thursday into Friday, with local Yasser Rabello recording a video featuring the vandalism at around 4 a.m. on Friday morning. By the afternoon, all the paint had been wiped off.

Nevertheless, in the several hours the vandalism was visible, it had become a spectacle, with influencers and other passersby stopping to snap photos of the damage, WPLG reported. TikToker Chase Thomas told the publication, "I just heard about it, and I came out here to see if it was true, and I see all of these Teslas."

The Fort Lauderdale police are now reportedly investigating the vandalism. Those who live or work in proximity to the lot said the vehicles had been in it for around three days. It's not clear for how long Tesla has leased the lot or whether it will continue to use it after the vandalism.

Cybertrucks were the object of intense scrutiny and criticism a couple of months ago after thousands were recalled due to a mechanical issue . The accelerators reportedly got caught on some of the vehicles, forcing them to continue accelerating, which posed a significant danger to drivers.
