Wisconsin man arrested at Sleeping Bear Dunes for stealing car, National Park Service says
UPDATE 8/20/24 6:30 p.m. Steven Lisowski, wanted by Milwaukee Police for stealing a car, was arrested Tuesday by a National Park Service ranger and a Benzie County K-9 officer at Sleeping Bear Dunes. After the car was located at the National Lakeshore, multiple agencies worked together to find him. NPS said the ranger, officer and Lisowski were all injured during the arrest. They were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The case is still under investigation.

Details released about cause of Thursday’s 5-car pile-up on Highway 29
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - A 54-year-old man has been cited for driving too fast for conditions following a major crash involving four other vehicles. The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Aug. 15. Authorities responded to Highway 29 near 48th Avenue in Stettin. According to a crash report, a man driving a pick-up truck lost control and struck a bridge barrier. It triggered a chain reaction of crashes. After striking the bridge, the pick-up, which was hauling an enclosed trailer was struck by a semi truck with a trailer. The semi also struck a second vehicle during the crash. The pick-up trailer became disabled and blocked all lanes of traffic. Investigators said during the immediate slow down, a fourth and fifth vehicle collided.
