American Halal restaurant chain The Halal Guys is set to open its first location in South Carolina later this year as part of a five-unit franchising deal.

The new restaurant will occupy a 2,400-square-foot space at Pendleton Village in Fort Mill , filling the vacancy left by Clean Eatz , according to the Charlotte Business Journal . Pendleton Village, a 30,000-square-foot retail center, is owned by Rock Hill-based Warren Norman Co. and is now fully leased with the addition of The Halal Guys, at 1504 Carolina Place Drive, directly across from Lowe’s.

Franchisees Shakti Patel , Vrund Patel , and Robert Parks , have signed a deal to open five locations of The Halal Guys in the region, including areas such as Rock Hill and Columbia, South Carolina, according to the CBJ’s report. Shakti Patel on Thursday confirmed the news with What Now Charlotte but was not immediately available to comment.

The menu at The Halal Guys offers a variety of options, including regular or small platters featuring beef gyro, chicken, falafel, or a combination, served with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and a choice of toppings, finished with the brand’s signature white and hot sauces. They also offer sandwiches made with warm pita and a choice of protein, along with sides like hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, and fries. For dessert, customers can enjoy baklava and chocolate chip cookies.

Another location of The Halal Guys is currently under construction at The Platform in South End, North Carolina, marking the brand’s first foray into the state .

The Halal Guys has been rapidly expanding, with 13 new restaurants opened last year. The chain now boasts nearly 100 locations across the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, and Korea, and has plans to grow to over 400 locations.
