The Phoenix Suns pulled out their first win of summer league on Wednesday in a 100-99 final over the Oklahoma City Thunder. This was a good opportunity for the regular Suns group to pick up their first win against a Thunder crew playing other parts of their roster. OKC played three games in the Utah Summer League prior to Las Vegas, so draft picks like Dillon Jones and Ajay Mitchell didn’t play.
Tempe man on trial for feeding homeless now faces ‘vindictive’ ban
The city of Tempe has already hauled Austin Davis into court for feeding the homeless without a permit. Now the city’s war on Davis has taken on a new front. On July 1, Davis said, a Tempe park ranger spitefully cited him for trespassing at Moeur Park, where he’d arrived after the park had closed to clean up trash. As a result, Davis has been banned from all Tempe parks in the Papago Park Preserve — impeding but not halting his efforts to feed the unhoused there — through August 2.

One dead after shooting involving US Marshals in Tempe
TEMPE, AZ — One person is dead after a shooting involving US Marshals near Rural Road and Southern Avenue Thursday afternoon. Officials say Marshals were attempting to apprehend a fugitive wanted by the Chandler Police Department on warrants for burglary, trafficking in stolen property and felony flight.
