    Travel news: jetBlue expanding, adding new routes to Florida, including Fort Myers

    Too early to talk about season in Southwest Florida? Not if you are a commercial airline planning ahead and adding new routes out of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers.

    There has been a flurry of airlines announcing new routes to and from Fort Myers in the last month with the latest coming on Wednesday (July 24) from jetBlue.

    On its website jetBlue said it is adding service and new routes that are aimed at connecting more New Englanders to the premium leisure destinations they want to go to. One of those destinations is Southwest Florida where tourists and snowbirds visit Fort Myers, Naples and Cape Coral in the winter.

    What are the new routes jetBlue is adding to RSW in Fort Myers?

    The airline said it will average 18 new daily departures from New England this winter, with six new routes between New England and the Sunshine State. Two of those routes will connect to RSW in Fort Myers:

    $49 fares available to celebrate Manchester launch and new service from Buffalo to West Palm Beach at JetBlue.com with flights on sale today. Check the jetBlue website for details and restrictions that apply.

    In recent weeks, America n, Breeze , Allegiant and Avelo have all added seasonal flights to and from RSW that will start later this year.
