    Travelers trek to north Alabama for ‘World’s Longest Yard Sale’ this week

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Tourists will attempt to cross state lines for the “World’s Longest Yard Sale” from Thursday to Sunday, which features stops in Alabama.

    Also known as the 127-Yard Sale, vendors in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan will set up shops spanning 690 miles along rural Route 127.

    In Alabama, the yard sale locations start at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden and then go northbound to 2266 Tabor Road. The third stop rests at the intersection of AL-176 (Lookout Mountain Parkway) and AL-68 in Collinsville and Akins Shady Pines in Fort Payne.

    Vendors typically open their booths at 8 a.m. and close in the evening, though there is no set time for operating hours.
