Warm, Hazy Sunday, Then Staying Warm Next Week
OVERNIGHT: Saturday started the weekend on a warm note, with highs in the mid-to-upper-80s. Skies were also mostly clear and sunny, although wildfire smoke led to hazy skies across our region. A few storms also popped up during the afternoon hours, bringing summertime downpours and even a few gusts of wind. Overnight, though, any leftover storms will dissipate, leading to mostly clear skies. Winds will be light, and temperatures will be in the mid-60s, so expect a warm, clear, uneventful start to the day.
Man in protective custody following machete incident
(Grand Forks, ND) — A man is hospitalized in protective custody after he cut himself with a machete late Thursday night in Grand Forks. Police officers were called to the four-hundred block of Demers Avenue around 10 p.m. on a report that a man was brandishing a machete in a threatening manner.
North Dakota Highway 20 Collision Sends Driver to Hospital
Ramsey County, ND – A traffic accident at the intersection of ND Highway 20 and Military Road resulted in injuries and hospitalizations. One vehicle was traveling southbound on ND Highway 20 while another was eastbound on Military Road, stopped at a stop sign, waiting to turn left onto ND Highway 20.

Changes made for the ACT Exam
(AP) – The science section will be optional on the ACT exam, and the exam duration will be decreased, the organization announced earlier this week. The writing section was made optional in 2005. Students can now opt between several versions of the test: the ACT core exam (which includes reading, math and English), the ACT plus writing, the ACT plus science or the ACT plus science and writing.
Motorcyclist seriously injured after merging onto highway
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured when he merged onto a highway without a clear view and was t-boned by a vehicle around 12:15 p.m. Friday. The crash happened on North Dakota Highway 20, about 3 miles south of Devils Lake. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the motorcycle driver, a 56-year-old man from Webster, North Dakota, turned onto Highway 20 while another vehicle was turning off the highway, blocking his view.
