Fort Scott’s Allie Brown Commits to Pitt State’s Softball Program

FORT SCOTT, KS — Fort Scott’s Allie Brown announced she is committing to Pitt State University to continue her softball career.

Brown is coming off an impressive junior season where she finished with a .500 batting average, a .636 on-base percentage and .816 slugging percentage.

She racked up 36 hits and one home-run.

She also earned herself Sports In Kansas Class 4A First Team All-State Honors for Infielder.

Brown was also a unanimous Southeast Kansas First Team All League Infielder.

We caught up with Brown who talked about it being a dream come true to stay close to home as well as why she chose the Gorillas and the support she’s gotten from her friends and family.

Pitt State Softball Commit Allie Brown said, “It’s honestly a dream come true. Like I’ve grown up on the ball field. My dad played competitive fastpitch softball, so I was I was always around softball my whole life. So it’s honestly just a dream come true that I get to do this. It’s only 30 minutes down the road, so I’ve always wanted to be a Gorilla and the environment there is just amazing. I love watching all the girls, how they get along. It’s just an amazing program. I thank them for everything. I think they’re the reason I’ve gotten this far and they’ve showed me so many ounces of support and they are the reason I’m here”.
