FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Mercy says it’s expanding its footprint into the Natural State by adding clinics into former Walmart Health centers inside Walmart stores.

A news release from the Missouri-based healthcare organization said it anticipates opening clinics out of three former Walmart Health center locations by late summer.

    These are the three locations:

    • 4780 Elm Springs Road, Springdale
    • 2110 W. Walnut, Suite 100, Rogers
    • 2100 N. 62 nd St., Suite A, Fort Smith
Walmart Health announces plans to close all 51 locations

Mercy said the facilities will only be primary care, not urgent care, and walk-ins will be welcome. Hours will be updated when the clinics open.

The Walmart Health centers closed operations on June 28.

Mercy said they will offer employment opportunities to current associates at those locations. It will lease the spaces and solely run the clinics and said Walmart will not be involved in the running of the clinics.

This comes after Walmart’s announcement in April that it would be closing all 51 of its health centers saying it learned while managing them, there was “not a sustainable business model for us to continue.”
