Ranger Kielak’s Walk Across America: A Journey to Raise Money for Nonprofits. Ranger Kielak, an alumni of Loyalton FFA in California, is embarking on an incredible journey: walking across the country to raise money for nonprofit organizations that are close to his heart. Ranger, who started his walk in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on March 10, plans to finish in Pismo Beach, California, next month. Currently, he is crossing the border from New Mexico to Arizona.

Ruidoso Wildfire Relief Concert gathers more than $35,000 for New Mexico communities
NEW MEXICO (NEWS RELEASE) - In the wake of the South Fork and Salt wildfires that raged through the small New Mexico towns of Ruidoso, Alto, and Mescalero; The Flying J Ranch and Lubbock Christian University (LCU) collaborated to host a relief concert in Lubbock, TX on July 1st, 2024. The Ruidoso Wildfire Relief Concert featured the Flying J Wranglers, of Ruidoso, and benefited The Community Foundation of Lincoln County (CFOLC), a local nonprofit which supports those directly impacted by area disasters.
Blanco woman missing for nearly 10 years found dead
The body of a Blanco woman missing for nearly 10 years was found July 3 by a person walking in the area, according to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. Sharron Holcomb was 64 years old when she disappeared Nov. 18, 2014. She was last seen at 1 p.m. that day, driving away from her Farmington-based business Holcomb Oil and Gas Co. Her car was later found at the family home in Bloomfield, but she was not home.

Farmington man arrested in possible gang-related drive-by
A Farmington man was arrested in connection to what could be a gang-related shooting in Bloomfield, according to police. Kayin Lee Candelaria, 25, was charged with four fourth-degree felonies including shooting at a dwelling, shooting at or from a motor vehicle and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Las Cruces man arrested after leaving toddler in car to buy drugs, police say
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — Las Cruces police arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly leaving his two-year-old son in a running vehicle to buy drugs Saturday morning. According to the Las Cruces Police Department, Jacob Lopez was arrested and charged with child abuse and two counts of possession of a controlled substance after police received a 911 call from a witness who said Lopez had left his son unattended while he went into a room at the Plaza Suites, at 301 E. University Avenue, known for drug trafficking.
