Heavy showers continue to move through New Mexico
Showers and storms have been moving across the state all day today. Flash Flood Warnings, and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued all over the state, even across the Albuquerque metro. As we head overnight, heavy rainfall could still occur as showers and storms continue to move to the south and southeast. Flooding concerns will persist through the overnight hours as well.

Battelle Names Newell Inventor Of The Year For Los Alamos

Raymond Newell, a research scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, was recently named Battelle’s Inventor of the Year for Los Alamos. The annual award recognizes inventors from Battelle and from Battelle-managed laboratories, including Brookhaven National Laboratory, Idaho National Laboratory, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Newell was honored in May at the Celebration of Solvers ceremony at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio.
San Juan County football teams prepare for season at scrimmage tournament
BLOOMFIELD – The sights and sounds of high school football played out loudly Saturday at Bobcat Stadium, where seven teams competed in a 7-on-7 scrimmage tournament. Bloomfield, the reigning District 1-4A champions and 2022 Class 4A state champions, won the tournament, beating Farmington 14-7 in the final scrimmage game.
