Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter members partner with Jacob’s Ladder and Briar Patch Shredding and Recycling

    2024-04-08

The Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., will hold a paper shredding and electronics recycling activity on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Jacob’s Ladder Youth Foundation, Inc.

Jacob’s Ladder is located at 11414 Livingston Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. Briar Patch Shredding and Recycling will perform the on-site paper shredding and electronics recycling.

The shredding and electronics recycling event is part of the sorority’s Enhance our Environment Initiative. This annual event celebrates Earth Day and allows community members the opportunity to actively engage in waste reduction and environmentally safe disposal of electronics and personal identifiable information.

Also during the event, Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter’s Connection and Social Action Committee will hold a voter registration drive. The voter registration drive is part of the sorority’s Advocate for Social Justice Initiative.

“We want to empower our communities to protect the environment and utilize their voices to advocate for issues at the local, state, and national levels,” said Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter President Quindella Fletcher.

Both events are open to members of the public.
