MIDLAND, Mich. (WANE) – Henry Baez, Will Geerdes, and Jose Geraldo combined to throw the fourth no-hitter in TinCaps history, as Fort Wayne topped Great Lakes 9-1 on Friday night at Dow Diamond.

Baez did the bulk of the work, as the Fort Wayne starter went seven innings, striking out four, while walking one. Baez did give up an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh. He walked the leadoff batter – Chris Newell – who later advanced to third on an error. Newell would come home when the next Loons batter grounded into a double play.

Will Geerdes came on in relief in the eighth and retired the side in order. Jose Giraldo did the game in the ninth, with a fly ball to centerfielder Homer Bush Jr. sealing the no-hitter.

These two teams play again on Saturday for game five of their six-game series. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. in Midland, Mich.
