FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Three Rivers Festival continues Friday with Children’s Fest and International Village hosted on Purdue Fort Wayne’s (PFW) campus.

Keri Roby, operations director of the festival, said organizers moved these events due to downtown construction. However, she stated this new setting allowed festival organizers to expand the number of vendors and to allow more free parking for the events at PFW.

Children’s fest attendees are able to enjoy a variety of arts and crafts, free samples, magic shows and other activities. Police and firefighters will also be at the event for visitors to look at their vehicles and chat with first responders.

The International Village will have cultural vendors and dances performed onstage to complement all of the worldwide dishes.

Although the whole festival is family friendly, Roby said these two events are specifically intended for families to enjoy.

“Families can come to the concerts, but they are a little later at night so people who want to bring out their young children to a later event,” Roby said. “[Festival staff] wanted to have something that’s dedicated directly to families especially with younger children.”

Both events will start Friday and end Saturday. These festivities are open and free to the public. For more information, download the Three Rivers Festival app or visit the event website .
