DEKA FIT Midwest competition kicks off at the War Memorial Coliseum

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — DEKA FIT Midwest is coming to Fort Wayne, taking over the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for the weekend.

DEKA FIT is a fitness competition under the Spartan Race umbrella. Competitors must complete 10 “zones” of different fitness exercises, each preceded by a 500-meter run or walk.

The event features two days of fast-paced fitness competition. Saturday’s programming includes the youth competition for those aged 10-13, with qualifying spots for the 2024 DEKA World Championship on the line, and the DEKA Fit Teams competition, where teams of two adults work to complete DEKA’s fitness zones, relay-race style.

Competition continues Sunday with the DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup, where participants must complete the DEKA course five times in a row.
