A 340-pound Indiana woman was charged with reckless homicide this week after she allegedly suffocated her 10-year-old foster son when she sat on him for several minutes, according to police.

Jennifer Lee Wilson, 48, allegedly killed youngster Dakota Levi Stevens in April after he attempted to escape to a neighbor’s house, according to court documents.  

Wilson is accused of sitting on the boy outside her home in what she said was a bid to stop him from “acting up,” the docs state.

The Associated Press, WKRC, the Cincinnati Enquirer, and other local news outlets say that on July 18, 36-year-old John Carter was given the maximum prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter, which is three years. He was sentenced in Butler County for the death of his fiancée Katelyn Markham, whom he first reported missing in 2011.

Last Friday, two men were arrested on charges following a joint investigation into drug trafficking in Adel, culminating in a search at their home. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the search took place on Friday, June 28, at the residence of 28-year-old Shyiem Marquon Banks and 36-year-old Roderick Dion Collins. Investigators discovered a substantial quantity of drugs, including 210 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3.2 pounds of suspected marijuana, 13 grams of suspected alpha-PVP (Flakka/bath salts), over 90 suspected oxycodone tablets, and 2 firearms.
