FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Detroit Tigers no. 1 prospect Max Clark tallied two hits and scored two runs to lead the West Michigan Whitecaps over the TinCaps 6-4 in the first game of a six-game series at Parkview Field on Tuesday night.

Clark, the no. 3 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Franklin Community High School – about 45 minutes south of Indianapolis – opened the game with a double off the center field wall and scored two batters later on a base hit from Tigers no. 4 prospect Kevin McGonigle.

Joshua Mears and Kai Murphy both homered for the TinCaps in the loss.

The TinCaps and Whitecaps are set to play game two of their six-game series at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
