Taylor Sheridan’s Fort Worth-filmed ‘Landman’ gets first trailer. Here’s a look

The first trailer for the Fort Worth-filmed “Landman” has been released.

“Landman” is co-created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, which is based on Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown” that Wallace wrote and hosted. The series premieres on Paramount+ on Nov. 17.

Billy Bob Thornton stars in “Landman” alongside, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Paulina Chávez and Mark Collie. Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia and Michael Peña will have guest starring roles in the series.

“Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, ‘Landman’ is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs,” the show’s synopsis reads. “The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

“Landman” filmed scenes in Fort Worth

Cameras began rolling on “Landman” in Fort Worth in early February and ended in late June.

The series filmed scenes across the city, including at Texas Christian University. “Landman” also filmed in Weatherford and Young County.

While filming in Fort Worth, the cast was spotted sampling the city’s culinary delights.

Jon Hamm stopped by Goldee’s Barbecue , Brix Barbecue and Curly’s Frozen Custard. Billy Bob Thornton, who enjoys Joe T. Garcia’s, got a taste of Arlington-founded Hurtado Barbecue.

“Landman” premiering this fall

“Landman” is the latest series from Sheridan to premiere this fall.

The North Texas native counts credits on “Tulsa King” season 2 out on Sept. 15, “Lioness” season 2 on Oct. 27 and “Yellowstone” on Nov. 10. His “Yellowstone” prequel series “1923” is also currently filming in South Texas.

“Landman” premieres on Paramount+ on Nov. 17.
