Taylor Sheridan’s Fort Worth-filmed ‘Lioness’ wraps production. To premiere this fall

Taylor Sheridan’s spy thriller “Lioness” has wrapped filming in Fort Worth.

The Paramount+ series began production in Cowtown in late May and wrapped filming in late August. The show stars Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman.

Several cast members took to social media to mark the end of production on the second season, which is out on Oct. 27.

Season two newcomer Genesis Rodriguez had nothing but praise for the city and Sheridan.

“Adios Ft.Worth it’s not goodbye it’s see you soon,” Rodriguez posted to her 842,000 Instagram followers. “Mr. Taylor Sheridan, boss you have changed my life forever in so many ways. And I am so SO grateful to you.”

LaMonica Garrett , who plays Tucker on “Lioness,” posted a video of the cast celebrating the end of season two with a lake day.

“Love this cast n crew/fam... Had way too much fun out here in Fort Worth filming,” Garrett said. “Can’t wait for y’all to check out what we’ve cooked up this season, to say it’s intense would be an understatement.”

Actors James Jordan and Jill Wagner also celebrated the end of filming in Fort Worth. The cast and crew were spotted around town while filming, including at Chris Stapleton’s Arlington concert this summer.

“Lioness” follows a CIA operative (Saldana) who attempts to balance her personal and professional lives in the agency’s war on terror.

The series is based on the real-life program of the same name used by the CIA , which attached female Marines to combat units to search Iraqi women and children.

“Lioness” premiered its first season on Paramount+ in July 2023 and is back for season two on Oct. 27.
