Lucchese Bootmaker , the Texas-born retailer where a pair of handmade luxury boots can set you back thousands of dollars, is coming to Arlington’s entertainment district.

A filing with the state says the company plans to build out a 3,600-square-foot space at Choctaw Stadium, the former home of the Texas Rangers that has been undergoing redevelopment with restaurants, office space and retail. Arlington owns Choctaw Stadium and leases it to the Texas Rangers.

Lucchese’s $350,000 project is expected to begin in November and open in fall 2025.

Lucchese was founded in 1883 in San Antonio by Sicilian immigrants Salvatore and Joseph Lucchese who operated at Fort Sam Houston to outfit soldiers. Today the company is based in El Paso and has stores around Texas, including two in the Fort Worth Stockyards, one in Parker County and two in Dallas.

Where the retailer is setting up shop in Arlington is already teeming with construction. One Rangers Way , an eight-story, 300-unit luxury apartment complex, is expected to open in January.

The National Medal of Honor Museum is going up near Choctaw Stadium.

Loews Hotels, which built Live! by Loews in 2019, opened a second 21-story Loews Arlington hotel early this year and is planning a third Loews hotel in the district where a Sheraton is now.
