After a cool start to September, summer-like temperatures are back in Dallas-Fort Worth.

High temperatures will be in the mid-90s this weekend, with heat index values reaching 100 degrees, said Sarah Barnes, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Fort Worth office.

The heat will continue into next week with temperatures in the low to mid-90s for much of North Texas. Heat index values are expected to be close to triple digits over the week, Barnes said.
