A woman who in April 2019 shot and killed William Prygon in Fort Worth has been sentenced to 39 years in prison, according to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.

Catrina Renee Guy, now 50, was convicted by a jury of Prygon’s murder. Guy was arrested after police said she fired eight shots at Prygon , 50, and killed him.

Police on April 11, 2019, found Prygon dead in a field on his property in the 7700 block of Sommerville Place Road near Lake Worth. More than a dozen units were sent to the property just before 10:30 a.m. that day.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office in 2019 said Prygon died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Guy, at the time 45, was arrested on April 16, 2019. The District Attorney’s Office said she has previous, unrelated convictions for assaulting a teacher and stabbing a woman.
