Police are investigating a west Fort Worth shooting that left a 24-year-old woman in critical condition Thursday night, officials said.

Officers self-initiated an investigation at 3100 Bridge Hill Drive shortly after 11 p.m. They found the victim lying on the ground at that location with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police.

An unknown suspect fired into a vehicle and struck the woman, according to the police report of the incident.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but isn’t expected to survive, police said.

    No arrests have been announced.

The Gun Violence Unit is investigating the shooting.
