Former TCU Horned Frog Dylan Horton was taken off the reserve/non-football injured list by the Houston Texans less than a year after being diagnosed with late-stage Hodgkin lymphoma.

On March 11, Horton announced he was in remission from cancer on X, formerly Twitter, thanking friends family and the Texans organization for their support throughout the ordeal.

Texans head coach Demeco Ryans praised Horton for his handling the diagnosis and his preparation to get back on the field.

“The way he handled it and the mindset with which he handled it, he always still attacked it with a smile, he attacked it with a great attitude every single day,” said Ryans, “Everything he went through, I can’t say Dylan had a bad day because he never showed it and that is just proof to everyone that no matter what we are going through … attacking it with the right mindset, a positive attitude really goes a long way and Dylan represents that.”

The Texans drafted Dylan Horton with the No. 109 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after the Frisco native played three years for TCU after transferring from New Mexico State.

Houston won the game, 23-20, on a game-ending field goal.
