Enjoy the last weekend of summer-like weather. This is how hot it will be in DFW

Dallas-Fort Worth is in store for a summer-like weekend, ahead of cooler temperatures arriving next week.

Temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees above normal this weekend, said Sarah Barnes, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Fort Worth office . The normal max temperatures for Oct. 11-13 is 80 to 81 degrees.

Friday and Saturday Oct. 11-12 temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s, warming up the upper 90s on Sunday Oct. 13, Barnes said.

While North Texans will feel summer-like temperatures this weekend, a cold front moves into the region Monday Oct. 14.

Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 80s on Oct. 14, Barnes said. By Tuesday Oct. 15, temperatures are forecast to dip into the upper 70s.

Much of the same upper 70s weather is expected on Wednesday and Thursday Oct. 16-17, Barnes said.

There’s a chance of isolated showers along the Red River on Friday Oct. 11 morning, but most of the Metroplex is expected to stay rain-free beyond that.

“It looks like the next seven days are going to be bone dry for North Texas,” Barnes said.
