    Going to the Red River Showdown this weekend? Here’s where to park and how to get there

    Dallas’ Fair Park will play host to two major events this weekend: The State Fair of Texas and the Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma.

    The fair has been operating daily since opening on Sept. 27, and will be open until Oct. 20. The Star-Telegram has a full guide to the fair, including information on parking, tickets and discounts .

    On same fair property, Texas and Oklahoma fans will gather at Cotton Bowl Stadium to watch the 120th edition of the Red River Showdown . The annual game pits the neighboring college football programs, and states, against each other.

    There’s a few different ways to get to the fair and/or game. Here’s what to know:

    Is there parking around Fair Park?

    Yes, there are several parking lots around the fairgrounds.

    All official fair parking lots cost $30 and are located near pedestrian gates. The most convenient parking lot is located at 925 S. Haskell Ave., fair officials said.

    Bicycle racks are on a first-come-first-served basis and are located inside gates 5, 6 and 11.

    What public transportation options are there to Fair Park?

    For those looking to forgo parking altogether, taking the train from Fort Worth to Dallas is a hassle-free option. Here’s how that works:

    • Take the Trinity Railway Express to Victory Station in Dallas.
    • At Victory Station, transfer to Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) green line.
    • Ride the green line to either the Fair Park station (3710 Parry Ave.) or MLK, Jr. station (1412 S. Trunk Ave.).
    • When the fair day is done, hop back on the green line at either Fair Park or MLK, Jr. stations.
    • Ride green line back to Victory Station.
    • At Victory Station, transfer to the Trinity Railway Express and ride back to Fort Worth.

    For the entire Fort Worth to Dallas trip, you will need to purchase a regional day pass from Trinity Railway Express which costs $12 for adults and $3 for anyone under 19 years old. Purchase tickets through the GoPass app or at the station.

    Is there a rideshare pick-up and drop-off location at Fair Park?

    Yes, the rideshare drop-off and pick-up is located at gate one at Gurley Avenue and South Haskell Avenue.

    Does a Red River ticket include fair entry?

    Yes, a ticket for the Red River Showdown includes entry into the State Fair of Texas and Cotton Bowl Stadium.

    However, a state fair ticket does not include entry into Cotton Bowl Stadium.
